To whoever reading this,
Yes, every year around this period we celebrate Women. This one day is made so that history does not forget about celebrating Womanhood. Seems like it turned out to be a one-day celebration where we suddenly think about our Mother, Sisters, Friends, and every Woman who is part of our life. Honestly, I love being in the spotlight for this day, I enjoy all the luxuries I get, and I cherish the wishes I receive. But it isn’t something I deserve every day. Am I receiving enough every day? Am I being noticed every day? Am I being appreciated every day?
I hope I made you think. But yes, I am here to share my gentle message to every Woman in Tech on this special occasion. And also to remind them that they are not forgotten. We should empower others. When Women empower women, we can make a difference, a huge difference. A true magic unfolds, and the entire place is lightened.
Leading Change as Women in Tech
As a woman in technology, I am especially happy about the progress we are making in breaking down boundaries and establishing our presence. We know technology is constantly evolving, and women put so much time and energy into keeping up the pace. We continuously strive to acquire knowledge, create lucrative careers, and stand out from the crowd. It’s not just about receiving. We are seeing community activities and Mentorships to guide other women and the next generations. Isn’t the most lovely thing that we witness today? Let the chain of gratitude continue!
Women in Testing: Wearing Multiple hats
Dear Women (in Testing),
I am sure you have been told many times that software testing is an easy profession and that’s why many women are into testing. I burst into laughter every time I heard it. There are indeed a lot of women in testing, not because it’s an easy job, but because the application demands to be tested by us. We are better testers, and we can empathize with users and make better products. We bring so much value because of our real-life experiences (using a product for our parents, buying a new toy for our kids, researching to get something for our family members).
Our journey into software testing throughout the years has not been easy. We can lead and guide our future generations. You are making a difference with each test plan, test case development, and execution. Just remember that! So next time don’t let anyone belittle you for being a tester 🙂
Finally, this Women’s Day I want you to take an oath. From this day forward, Celebrate Women in your life whenever and wherever you can. Don’t wait for March 8th.
Many women taught me how to face ordinary real-life obstacles and turn them into opportunities. I look up to women in my family, friends, neighborhood, mentors, and coworkers. They all had something to teach me.
