Hola Peeps,
Hope you are all doing well 🙂
I am here today to share my experiences attending and speaking at SOFTECAsia 2023 Conference.
Few months before people from Malaysia Software Testing Board reached out to Synapse QA. They are interested to collaborate as community partners with Synapse QA for their upcoming conference. We were so amazed and surprised to know about the conference which is happening in Malaysia. Until then we are not sure about their existence. So we happily started collaborating with them. People are so warm and welcoming. Myself and Ram got an opportunity to present a workshop for this year’s conference.
After a long time, I got the opportunity to speak within Malaysia. I was so looking forward to my workshop, and the day finally arrived. The location is extremely convenient, as it is located within KL.
The day before the conference, we were invited to the Speaker’s dinner. We had a great time conversing and getting to know each other. On that evening, Norilda gave out the speaker cards and pamphlets.

Day 1:
It was simple to get to the conference place once I arrived at the hotel.

Nishi gave the opening keynote address. It was quite energetic, and it was nice to hear from him. He reminded us all to be “Mechamato”!!

Then came Izham Johar’s talk, in which he discussed TNB’s digital transformation path. It’s wonderful and inspiring.
Then Paul went on to discuss about Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. He began by defining “engineering,” which made us all ponder.

The discussion was quite informative, and afterwards we had a fantastic meal. We had a variety of cuisines to choose from, including Malay, Chinese, and Indian.
We reconvened after lunch to continue with the Keynotes. Marco was unable to attend, so his colleague stood in for him and performed his speech.
Then Naveen shared his study findings and understanding regarding LLMs and their advantages. He also mentioned how we may use it for testing purposes.

Azizah joined after Naveen, and she organized all of the relevant notes and gave the main insights.

Day 2:
The day is packed with workshops, and mine begins at 9 a.m., despite the fact that it was pouring outside. I made it to the hotel on time. I started preparing for the workshop.

I began the session once we got the audience. We had an almost full house. People are really engaged and involved.

I began with some theory and then moved on to the hands-on part, which they thoroughly loved. Finally, there was a quiz, and Adira was the winner.

I participated in Ram’s workshop after lunch. He was incredible, beginning with the fundamentals of Automation and progressing to hands-on experience with Katalon.

The attendees had fun playing with automation.

We talked with Paul after the event. For the first time, I met him during the HUSTEF conference last year.

Norilda handed us a T-shirt and we told her it was one of the nicest conferences we’d ever attended. She has a tremendous deal of enthusiasm and running the entire event.

Overall, the conference is well organized and neatly executed. Organizing committee is so warm and kind.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Looking forward to join the future editions!
